Being part of this spooktacular celebration for Addison’s birthday
was such a hoot! The birthday girl
really had a vision for her perfect party.
She wanted Halloween Carnival styled stations for activities, but with a
Monster High theme. I collaborated with Mom, Gretchen, who had chosen to rent a large tent to cover their outside basketball court. This space was the perfect setting for a carnival! We filled the venue with tons of entertaining
games (traditional- from apple bobbing and bean bag toss, to a “Pin the Heart on
Draculaura” to bring in our theme), a few sit-down crafts for creative
kiddos, then brought in the talents of a local Balloon Twister and Face Painter
to really wow the guests!
Upon entry, each
child received tickets and a check list tied to a goody bag that directed them
through each station and a take-home tote to stash their loot! I kept décor consistent to our
Carnival style
with a ticket booth and pennants across the tent ceiling in classic Halloween
colors, but vamped up the details with a “fabulously girly” Monster High style by
using feather boas,
glittery skulls and starry tulle. It dazzled the space just right to set the
party tone to be not scary,
but fun, funky and fabulous!
